I'm Riding for a reason in January

I’m challenging myself during the 2020 Santos Tour Down Under this January with the Ride for a Reason team to fundraise and help us work towards a cancer free future!

In 2017, my Dad Kevin was diagnosed with an aggressive Brain Tumor.  As a regular fundraiser, then recepient of the Cancer Councils programs, Dad benefited greatly from the Cancer Councils support programs while undergoing treatment.

Only a week or two before he was diagnosed, Dad had ordered a new bike and waited months for it arrived.  Knowing his time to ride it would be limitted, he said to me, while checking out his new purchase in my driveway, "you can have it when I'm buggered'.  After a brave fight Dad passed away in February this year. I'll be riding 78.5km from Mt Torrens to Murray Bridge on Dads bike in memory of him and to raise money for the Cancer Council to support others with this terrible disease.

The money raised through Ride for a reason enables Cancer Council to fund vital prevention, research, advocacy and support programs that save lives.

With one in two Australians diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85, the need to find better ways to detect and treat cancer is real.

Please donate in whatever way you can to support my ride and help us work towards a cancer free future!
